The Victoria Hotel Commemorates World Tourism Day 2017

World Tourism Day has been celebrated worldwide on the 27th of September since 1980 and has over the years become a significant annual event that highlights the importance of the tourism industry across the globe.

It is estimated that tourism is responsible for one in every ten jobs worldwide while 1.2 billion tourists travelled the globe during 2016. Moreover, tourism is an important mechanism through which an increased sense of understanding between diverse cultures can be fostered.

The Victoria Hotel marked this day by serving celebratory drinks and traditional Maltese pastries for all hotel guests in the lobby. In line with the spirit of World Tourism Day, this informal event enabled guests with different cultural backgrounds to socialise and learn about different countries.
