2018 is a big year for the Maltese islands, especially for Valletta, due to it being the European Capital of Culture. The official opening is going to take place in the capital from the 14th to the 21st January. Starting off with a bang, the traditional Maltese Festa will bring life to the capital’s streets.
The cultural programme will kick off in our capital city and make its way to towns and villages around Malta and Gozo. The opening week will draw tourists and locals alike to Valletta towards cultural events, entertainment, music, and so more. During the week of the 20th January, exhibitions and events will also be happening in the capital. This will be a great time to discover Valletta in all its glory.
On the 20th January, Erba’ Pjazez (Four Squares) will be hosting original spectacles every hour at different locations including Triton Square, St George’s Square, St John’s Square and Castille Square.
