Malta World Music Festival

If music be the food of love, play on!

About the Malta World Music Festival

The Malta World Music Festival is a time when the diversity of Mediterranean and world music is celebrated. The festival brings together a rich programme of Maltese music bands and international world music acts. The first edition of the festival in 2017 left an extremely positive impact on music lovers. With a great line-up and the historic Fort St Elmo in Valletta as its magnificent backdrop, nothing could go wrong.

What to Expect This Year

This year, happening on Friday 18th May and Saturday 19th May, the festival is proving to be bigger and better. Since Valletta is hosting the title of European Capital City of Culture for 2018, this year will surpass expectations.

The idea of the festival is to celebrate the beauty of cultural diversity that is borne out of the experiences made through the power of music. Upon the artistic direction of Renzo Spiteri, the festival will undoubtedly be another success story.

The Malta World Music Festival will feature big names such as Cushion, Refugees for Refugees, Afro Celt Sound System, Ana Alcaide, Trad.Attack! and Electrik Gem.

How to Get There

If you’re staying at AX The Victoria Hotel, getting to Valletta is easy. Sliema is one of the most popular urban cities in Malta. If you’re not renting a car, you can easily catch a direct bus straight to Valletta. However, if you want to travel in the most touristic way, you can catch the ferry from the Sliema front that will take you to Valletta in no time. If both these options are not satisfactory enough and you want to travel in style, you can also book a taxi with Prestige Cabs. Either way, getting to Valletta is not a problem!
